The Kappa Pi Kappa Society (Pi-Kap) was founded at Dartmouth College on July 13, 1842 as a literary and debate society dedicated to the principles of democracy, equality of opportunity, and loyalty to Dartmouth. The Society became a social fraternity in 1905 and remains the second oldest active fraternity at Dartmouth and the oldest active local fraternity in the United States.
